Welcome, ladies and gents, to the greatest poker tournament in the ‘Verse!

Don't let anyone tell you this is a game of luck, no sir and madam, it is a game of skill played by those with nerves of steel and gonads of iron. Here the stakes are always high and the rewards are even higher.

Not up to the challenge? Then experience the thrill of watching the game or trying your hand at the minor tables. Poker isn't everyone's game, but we promise something for all. Use this unique networking opportunity or avail yourselves of our first class facilities. Explore the fascinating wilderness zone, participate in a local manhunt, attend a fashion show or make use of our repair yards – there are plenty of options and all come with our unique confidentiality guarantee.

Welcome, one and all, to the Moon of Mirestai.

Looking for work? We have casual vacancies for waiting-on staff, ships and pilots, security, entertainers, hosts and hostesses. We pay reasonable rates.

Subject: Mirestai

[(Mee-Ress-Tay) (From the Gk Moira, lit. "share, fate," ; meiresthai "to receive one's share.")]

Mirestai occupies a prestigious position close to the core worlds, sharing an orbit with Pelorum. It is a playground of the rich and the famous, in part because of the strict confidentiality agreements guests enter into when they visit.
No 'real' names are necessary and guests may be identified by whichever moniker they chose. To prevent electronic tracing, most transactions take place using the moon's own currency, the Gold Dollar. Confidentiality and anonymity are the watchwords of Mirestai, yet such is its reputation that it often pays to be known and seen in the area.

Every year, Mirestai hosts a Poker tournament that attracts considerable media attention. The big games themselves are not televised, but many of the minor games, entertainments and events are. Celebrities, politicians and other V.I.P.s are often to be seen in the lounges and at performances.

The moon of Mirestai is owned by the McCall-DeGuilles, a long-standing Core-world dynasty that can legitimately claim connections to more politicians, entrepreneurs and military leaders than any other.
